I am so sad to hear of more devastation in Queensland due to flooding. So many towns have been devastated and now Brisbane is bracing itself for absolute disaster flooding, the fears are that this flooding will be even worse than the events of 1974.
It is so hard to be far away hearing about the devastation and loss of lives, the numbers of missing people when you have roots there. It is unimaginable.
Kellies Antiques closed early today as people in the CBD were told to pack up and get home. Everyone in the city centre is evacuating.
The waters will continue to rise over the next days. There will be an expected 6,500 homes and businesses in the centre of Brisbane destroyed by rising flood waters in the next days.
My thoughts are with all the Queenslanders who are in a terrible state of emergency at present.
Brisbane inner city is like a ghost town. Everybody has left. Supermarket shelves are empty of fresh food with people panic buying. Tomorrow and Thursday are expected to be the worst. We hope not.

Do stay safe Deb. With the waters continuing to rise, the worst is not over yet. I was also shocked to see the devastation in Toowoomba.
